I was learning to retell a story by remembering the main ideas. I found this tricky because it was hard for me to remember what happened next in the story. I need to keep working on retelling.

Don't Worry - Plot in the Story

Reflection

I was learning to talk about the plot in the story.In this activity I understand the problems,events and solution to the story but find it difficult to read and understand some of the words. Contractions are tricky for me.
Next time I can ask more questions to help me to understand and I need more help learning contractions.

What we learnt about Matariki

In this activity we did a padlet and wrote the things we learnt about Matariki with a buddy. I enjoyed to make the matariki star.

Matariki - Find and Summarise Information

Reflection I was learning to summarise information in a non-fiction text by skimming and scanning. I found this tricky because I don't no some Maori words and found it hard to answer the questions.  I got help with reading it I am beginning to answer questions myself.

How seedlings Grow - Explanation Writing

Reflection I was learning to write an explanation. I learnt how to use sequencing words. Next I can work on adding more detail. I think I did a good explanation and I really enjoyed this.

Reflection WALT read analogue clocks and write the time in numbers and words. It was tricky because it was tricky to write the numbers change to English.

Reflection we are learning to write a Moment In Time using my senses. I found this tricky because I had to use a conjunctions and I don't understand them. I need to work on my conjunctions.

My Reflection I am learning to write a haiku poem I found it tricky because I found it hard to make five syllables. Next time I will keep practising syllables.

I was learning to use my senses to add detail to my writing This was tricky but I used some of my senses. I needed support to make my sentences make sense.  Next time I must read through my work and check it with a buddy.

I was learning to write a poem using simple Imagery and create a google slide.  I found this easy because writing a poem takes a short time.  I have learnt to make a google slide.  My next step is to use the correct structure to set out my poem.

Welcome to my year 4 learning blog.  This year I am in Room 14 and my teacher is Mrs Prendergast.
